Joanna Lowell’s writing is like an unexpected bite of ice cream after long days of perfectly lovely, but ordinary, meals.
It’s historical romance but it’s so much more. Every one of her books have stuck to my ribs and opened up my heart. Beautiful poetic writing, character depth and emotion that you can feel to the marrow of your bones. In the case of this story, a glimpse of understanding into love that looks a little bit different than the “traditional sort” but is—-at its heart just the same.
